Curiosity lies at the heart of our human nature and is responsible for so many developments in the world – both good and bad. What if Thomas Edison hadn’t been curious to find out how electricity works, or if Albert Einstein hadn’t been curious about splitting the atom. Massive technological advances would never have happened.

This series is aimed at showing the essential innocence behind our curious natures, using the curiosity of a young child exploring his new surroundings on a holiday visit. Antonisia said: "I wanted to show him from the back to encourage the viewers to focus on what he is doing rather than on the features of his face. What is he looking at; what has he found? What does he want to find? The use of his facial features in the final image is partly to satisfy the viewer’s own curiosity as to what the boy looks like. I think his excited and curious expression and the fact that he is pictured ‘side on’ also assist with this particular image, rounding off his exploration nicely."

Again here, the use of black and white is to ‘wash out’ the other features of the background and continue to focus, as mentioned above, the viewer’s attention on to what the child is doing, rather than on his or any other features within the images.
